Pakistan International Airlines, also known simply as PIA, is the national carrier of Pakistan and serves as the country's face to the rest of the world. Originally called Orient Airways, it relocated its headquarters to the city of Karachi in Pakistan from Calcutta, India. The company was initially established in 1946 and today, PIA serves both domestic and international destinations.
There are a total of 24 domestic stops and 25 international stops. It's the largest airline in Pakistan and the second largest airline in Asia to buy A-class jets. The airline’s major airport for commercial flights is Jinnah International Airport (KHI), while it has secondary operating hubs at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore and Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad.
Using an advanced fleet of 33 aircraft, Pakistan International Airlines operates an average of approximately 100 flights per day, providing service to domestic and international destinations located in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
PIA Airlines operates a range of innovative aircraft, including the Boeing 777, the world's most popular plane, and the Airbus A-320, the quietest. The airline's modern, comfortable planes are designed to safely transport customers. The destinations served by PIA include both domestic and foreign locations. The expansive network of PIA reaches 25 countries spanning Asia, Europe, and North America, in addition to 24 locations located inside Pakistan itself.
Long-range, wide-body, twin-engine Boeing 777s are in the family. When PIA first began operating the 777-200LR, 777-200ER, and 777-300ER in 1984, the company was a trailblazer in the utilisation of all three variants of the 777 aircraft. PIA's veteran travellers have commended them all for their spaciousness and comfort.
The Airbus A320 is one of the most widely used narrow-body short- and medium-haul jet aircraft currently in service. It has a great reputation for using less fuel and improving passenger comfort due to its perfectly sized fuselage. The A320 serves most of PIA's domestic and regional flights. The cabins of the ATR 42-500 and ATR 72-500 contain comfortable two-class seating. This aircraft allows PIA to offer its loyal customers the most convenient way to fly to rural and isolated places across this nation that are underserved by other forms of transportation.

Expectant mothers and parents of children flying without them should read PIA's rules and regulations on the airline's website before making their PIA bookings.
Passengers have the opportunity to terminate their PIA bookings with PIA through both the airline's sales centres and its official website. Any flight cancellations with PIA will be subject to a charge.
Pakistan International Airlines changed its name in 1955 from Orient Airways. It was the first and only airline in the British Raj to be owned by Muslims. PIA's commitment to serving its home country's citizens has made it the country's rock in the aviation sector, allowing it to keep flying even in the face of conflict and disruption.
